Lalique Encre Noire Sport EDT 100ml — Eau de Toilette

As I am a fan of the classic version of this fragrance (Lalique Encre Noir), which I believe is best suited for gray, rainy weather, I wanted to try the lighter, "sportier" variant for sunny summer days. Unfortunately, the scent did not develop for the better after a short time and began to strongly remind me of the smell of sour pickles. The positives definitely include the very good longevity and the quite noticeable sillage. However, the downside for my personal perception is this persistent association with pickles... What a shame...

Encre Noire is probably one of the most budget friendly niche fragrances on the market. The fragrance really takes me back to my time in school. For me it smells like pencil shavings and that’s probably because of the Vetiver in this fragrance. If you’re expecting a fragrance that is super strong and projects a lot then this might not be the best pick. But if your wanting to get into niche and smell something that is different then this is definitely worth a go. I was pleasantly surprised with this fragrance. I wasn’t expecting much for the price of only 22 euro but it was totally worth it and I look forward to trying the other ones.

A bit of an acquired taste.. But then it smells good. I find it quite sporty.. It reminds me a bit of D. Homme sport 2008. I find the longevity average to good.. Almost 10 hours when worn on clothes. It is lightly sporty but at the same time mysterious and woody. Sillage is rather unconvincing.

It is rare that I smell a fragrance for just a second and immediately have such a vivid image in my mind. But Encre Noire Sports has captured the woody and slightly earthy scent of a forest combined with a summery freshness. This combination instantly reminded me of the smell that arises in nature after heavy rain in the summer. Very well done. The bottle itself is nice, especially the cap, which I like very much. However, I find the 100ml version a bit too bulky and too deep. They should have moved away from the cube shape and designed it to be a bit taller but not so deep. I can't say much about H/S yet, as I have rarely worn it so far.
