LaCie Hdd Esterno D2 Professional 16tb

What a beautiful drive, sleek design. Decent data rate for a non-raid drive. Expensive but many TB's of space and the stability and speed you would expect from a thunderbolt LaCie drive.

Excellent drive at an excellent price. Delivery was earlier than original ETA. Unfortunately if one has any questions about the drive there's no-one to speak to at Takealot. The FAQ sections understandably does not have the most helpful responses. But since one can search for the information elsewhere, the overall service from Takealot is excellent.

Drive for time machine backups Drive unmounts when device sleeps. Cannot leave connected to laptop. Keep getting messages for drive not ejected properly Otherwise works well

Good Points: Run a NAS on my network and use the LaCie as a backup for it and family Time Machine music and Photos. Interfaces well with Mac Mini and fast with its transfers and also useful for copying and transferring files over the network.

Improvement Points: The info on the product page is incorrect the drive does not work with a Thunderbolt2 connection, it is USB C only and would not connect to my 2015 Imacs Thunderbolt port with the Apple Adapter ( ordered extra). Drive does not power on without this othet than via stnd USB cable.
